CANTU' EGIZIO’s history is a family history.

Now at the third generation, CANTU' EGIZIO as founded in 1958 in Bernareggio, located in North Italy, in the surroundings of the large Milan area, when the enterprising spirit of the company's founder, Cantù Egizio, led him to start production of elastic braid in new premises together with his sons.

In 1965 the company developed, expanding the building and increasing its experience in the field of elastic braids, and starting the production of elastic top lace.

In the '70s, the Egizio Cantù covers an area of ​​3000 square meters, and now consolidated, buy its first crochet machines for the production of elastic narrow fabric.

In 1985, a short distance from the historical site, a new factory was built in which, over the years, all the production departments were transferred and new departments were built with needle frames.

In 1987 the company specializes in the production of silicone top lace for fashion and medical hold-up stockings.

Subsequently, in 1991 and 2006, further expansion of the Viale Industrie plant (3,000 square meters)

In 2006 the last expansion of the production areas took place. 5,000 m² were built to create additional production capacity.

A year later, in 2007, the production of fabrics and tapes for orthopedic supports began.

In 2015 the production of ribbons for sports clothing began.

Today Cantù Egizio boasts two factories and equipment including 52 Comez crochet machines, 3 innovative Müller mdr crochet machines, 40 Müller needle looms, 9 warping machines, 8 lines for continuous dyeing, 7 finishing machines and 6 siliconing machines.

These figures have earned the company a place among leading Italian producers of elastic edging and shoulder-straps for corsetry and it has become the most important supplier of silicone elastic crochet bands for the hosiery industry.
